The Newton County Health Department environmental health staff are responsible for the inspections of food establishments, on-site wastewater treatment systems, child day care facilities, swimming pools, tattoo facilities, and hotels & motels. Environmental health staff also conduct training classes, complaint investigations and laboratory testing of private wells.

Please note that facilities inside the city limits of Joplin are inspected by the Joplin City Health Department.
